Moulded parts
Moulded parts from polyurethane with specific properties
Moulded parts according to their meaning are objects given a special shape (during the manufacturing process).
When polyurethane (PUR) is foamed, the possibilities of designing or moulding are almost unlimited.
Through the exact mixing ratio polyurethane becomes a moulded part or a component with specific properties.
- High mechanical abrasion resistance
- Resistance against solvents, fats and oils
- High elasticity
- Pressure resistance
- Tear resistance
- Extraordinary thermal qualities
These factors make PUR moulded parts especially valuable for industrial application.
The production of moulded parts requires planning, construction and manufacturing of suitable tools. While high tool costs in injection moulding involves high quantities the foaming of polyurethane allows for the economical production of small and medium-sized quantities.
Moulded parts of polyurethane may be dyed during production or painted afterwards. In addition to the colouring and surfacing special polyurethane paints ensure the electrical conductivity of the surfaces of housings in medical technology, for example.
Deburring, printing and adhesive labelling of the components as well as the tailoring of units, if required, is done during post-processing.
